I had my very first flea market experience last weekend. I am in love. I paid the admission fee but admit to buying nothing. It was an indoor flea market so walked around in rounds and rounds, clicking picture of the wares for a whole afternoon. Occasionally I got shooed away for taking pictures but I was on a “junk-high” and didn’t really care. The flea market trip inspiration is Nate Berkus, the interior designer on Oprah who swears by them. And I can see why.
A big, hearty thank-you to all the flea market store owners who were kind and nice about me and few other ‘clickers’. You guys made my day! Here are a few things that caught my attention at the Randolph Street Flea Market:
- Scrabble anyone?
- Shackles
- Buddha and the needles – there is complex philosophy in play here…
- Paint the town red! (Or any other color.. take your pick!)
- Original Sears tokens @ Randolph Street Flea Market, Chicago
- Love the Paris shown in the poster and the Parisian too.
- Clock chains – a favorite
- I assume these are glass stirrers
- Pretty window dressing
- Wheels
- Fire Hose – the owner got it from his old furniture store
- Fire hose- circa 1930
- Cloth Table lamps and the lady under it.
- Q.W.E.R.T.Y
- Type. Type. Type.
- I think it’s a colored crystal candelabra
- The Mask
- Accounting
- Horns?
- Lock it away…
- Bubbles
- Modern chair with a vintage look.
- Knick-knacks
- Some more glass stirrers – I wonder if you can use them for hair-dos?

If I give you a list, will you buy what I like for me? You’ve got a great eye!
Thanks! I wish I could… but this flea market happens only once a year.
